Ms Joyce Cheng obtained her bachelor's degree in Language Education (English Language) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. After gaining valuable experience as an English teacher at St. Francis' Canossian College, she decided to go abroad to University College London where she pursued her master's degree in English Language (Modern).

Upon completion of the studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Faculty of Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Subsequent to finishing the project-based work related to language education, she continued her professional career development by teaching English Language and Language Arts at St. Mary's Canossian College.

In 2005, Ms Cheng joined this institution where she now teaches Academic English and IELTS.

In 2021, she successfully completed the Higher Education Teaching Certificate course offered by The Derek Bok Center for Teaching and Learning of Harvard University, the US.
