Mr Chan Long-fung is a dedicated educator specialising in new media, design, and technology, with a solid background in curriculum development and delivery. His academic and practical expertise are recognised through numerous accolades and grants. Notably, he was longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize in 2024 and received a First Selection at the 18th Arte Laguna Prize for Virtual and Digital Art in the same year. Additionally, he has been honoured as a two-time Media Art Category Finalist for the IFVA Awards in 2022 and 2023. His achievements include the WMA Photography Award in 2022 and a shortlist nomination for the Hong Kong Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale in 2025. He has also received significant funding, including UGC’s Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme and the Emerging Artists Development Grant from HKADC, among others.
Actively engaged in the global community, Mr Chan has been invited to participate in prestigious events such as the AI Action Summit at the Grand Palais in France in 2025. Combining a robust academic foundation with practical research experience, he consistently contributes to the scholarly community through publications and presentations for art institutions, as well as serving in advisory roles. He is adept at developing and leading lectures, workshops, and comprehensive courses tailored to diverse student populations, placing a strong emphasis on fostering both theoretical understanding and practical skills in emerging media and technology. His primary strengths lie in curriculum design for new media and creative coding applications, as well as promoting innovation at the intersection of design and technology.
