Mr Erwin Lau obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Simon Fraser University and Master of Philosophy degree in Humanities from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; he also possesses a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Before joining HKCC, Mr Lau had taught a wide range of subjects in a number of institutes including Hong Kong Baptist University and United International College (jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University).

Besides philosophy, Mr Lau is also interested in history and military thoughts.
