Dr Andy Tai obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics and Business Administrative Studies from the University of Winnipeg, Canada, Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Waterloo, Canada and PhD in Economics (Finance) from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

During his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Winnipeg and the University of Waterloo respectively, Dr Tai served as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics. Upon completion of his studies in Canada, he joined this institution to take up teaching responsibilities. During his service at PolyU HKCC, he was awarded an Outstanding Teaching Award. Dr Tai has served as a Visiting Lecturer for programmes offered by various renowned overseas universities in Hong Kong and has published a number of articles in the local newspaper Hong Kong Economic Journal.

Dr Tai is the Programme Leader of the Associate in Business (Logistics and Supply Chain Management). He is also the Admission Co-ordinator and Advisor for mainland students at HKCC. Dr Tai also chairs the Non-local Affairs Committee of the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE), PolyU.
